Sleuth (1972) is a British mystery thriller film starring Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine, directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and based on Anthony Shaffer's Tony Award-winning play of the same name. The plot centers on a diabolical psychological game between Andrew Wyke (Olivier), a wealthy and eccentric crime novelist obsessed with puzzles and games, and Milo Tindle (Caine), a younger, working-class owner of a chain of hair salons who is having an affair with Andrew's wife.
